How to draw...

Turn one round head and fuzzy oval body into a waving cartoon bumblebee, keeping three visible limbs on each side before the face, stripes, and marker color arrive. The upright greeting pose makes this a different drawing problem from the recent top-down ladybug, while the uneven wink and off-center mouth give the bee its own personality.

Let's draw a cartoon bumblebee

Treat this as one playful practice round: sketch the idea loosely, simplify the shapes, then commit with confident marker outlines and bright fills.

  1. 01
Set the bumblebee guides stage for how to draw a bee

    Set the bumblebee guides

Draw one light upright center axis, place a round head over a broad abdomen oval, then add two wing envelopes, two antenna routes, and exactly six limb axes with three attachments on each side and the upper viewer-left foreleg raised.

Marker tip: Count the three limb joints on one side, then mirror their heights loosely on the other side. Keep every route visible instead of hiding a middle limb behind a wing.

  2. 02
Shape the fuzzy silhouette stage for how to draw a bee

    Shape the fuzzy silhouette

Wrap the guides with the round head, scalloped fuzzy body, two antennae, two small wings, and exactly six bent limbs while preserving the same front-facing hover.

Marker tip: Rotate the page for the body curves and let the fuzz break the outline at irregular intervals. Trace from each shoulder or hip to its hand or foot so all six limbs stay attached.

  3. 03
Give the bee a cheeky hello stage for how to draw a bee

Give the bee a cheeky hello

Add one wide oval eye looking toward the raised foreleg, one curved wink, one lifted brow, and one small off-center open mouth with a tongue inside the established head.

Marker tip: Place the open eye first, then make the wink sit a little higher. That asymmetry creates the expression without falling back on two dot eyes and a centered U-smile.

  4. 04
Band the belly and wings stage for how to draw a bee

    Band the belly and wings

Draw exactly two broad curved bands around the existing abdomen, add two simple vein branches inside each wing, place a few short fuzzy-edge marks, and add one shallow oval shadow below.

Marker tip: Curve both bands with the body instead of drawing straight bars. Leave generous yellow spaces between them, then count two bands and six limbs before reaching for color.

  5. 05
Ink the honey-gold color stage for how to draw a bee

    Ink the honey-gold color

Thicken every established contour and fill the body golden yellow, both bands and all six limbs charcoal, the wings pale aqua, the tongue muted coral, and the shadow warm gray while leaving visible paper streaks.

Marker tip: Pull yellow strokes with the body curve and aqua strokes toward each wing tip. Let the fills dry before reinforcing the nearby black edges so they stay lively instead of muddy.

    Let the bumblebee buzz

Strengthen the keeper outlines and clarify the established two antennae, two wings, six limbs, waving foreleg, asymmetric face, two abdomen bands, veins, limited fills, paper highlights, and shadow.

Marker tip: Count two antennae, two wings, six limbs, and two dark bands, then stop. You can change the colors or expression, but adding a flower, honey pot, flight arc, sticker edge, or badge frame would crowd this simple greeting pose.
