Let's draw a spiral lollipop
Treat this as one playful practice round: sketch the idea loosely, simplify the shapes, then commit with confident marker outlines and bright fills.
-
01
Draw the round candy
Near the top half of the page, draw one generous hand-drawn circle. Leave open paper below it for the bow and stick.
Marker tip: Keep the circle comfortably high so the bow and stick have room below.
-
02
Wind the swirl
Start a loose black spiral near the candy center and wind it outward toward the rim. Stop before crossing the outer circle.
Marker tip: Turn the page as you pull the spiral in one relaxed motion; stop at the rim.
-
03
Tie the bow
Directly under the candy, draw a small oval knot, a rounded loop to each side, and one short pointed ribbon tail beneath each loop. Keep all four parts attached to the knot.
Marker tip: Count two loops and two pointed tails, all touching the same oval knot.
-
04
Pull the stick
From below the bow knot, draw two straight parallel stick edges down and round their lower tip. Stop the top edges behind the bow so no line crosses either loop.
Marker tip: Begin beneath the knot and stop both stick sides at the same rounded end.
-
05
Add two sparkles
Outside the round candy, draw one small four-point sparkle on the left and one on the right. Place three short broken shadow strokes just below the stick tip.
Marker tip: Keep both sparkles outside the candy and three shadow marks below the stick.
-
06
Color the candy and bow
Let the black outlines dry. Fill the existing spiral spaces with bright pink, yellow, teal and orange marker, color the bow purple, the stick warm gray and both sparkles yellow. Keep the same swirl and bow contours visible.
Marker tip: Work around the black swirl line and let small white paper streaks show.
